Bay House School and Sixth Form is celebrating its best ever GCSE examination results since the introduction of the reformed qualifications.

A fantastic 79% of pupils achieved an English GCSE Grade 9-4, with 74% doing so in Mathematics. Similarly superb results were achieved in Biology (84% 9-4), Chemistry (75% 9-4) and Physics (80% 9-4). Geography (70% 9-4) and History (69% 9-4) also continue to perform well above the national average. French results improved dramatically with 70% of pupils achieving a grade 9-4.

Results were also superb in Performing Arts and in sport. 92% of pupils achieved grade 9-4 in Dance, with 84% 9-4 in Drama and 94% 9-4 in Music. PE results were an outstanding 95% 9-4. All of the school’s progress and performance measures have improved significantly from 2018.

There were also many outstanding individual achievements. Ryan Bloxsom (8 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s), Kristi George (5 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, 1 grade 7 and a Level 2 Distinction Star), Anlore Steele (4 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s, 1 grade 7 and 2 grade 6s) and Dylan Wilson (6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 2 grade 6s). Over two-thirds of Year 10 pupils have already achieved a pass in GCSE English. Honor Farley in Year 10 entered three GCSEs early (English, Citizenship and Statistics) and achieved straight Grade 9s.

These results represent the amazing hard work and commitment of both pupils and staff. We continue to be proud of the achievements of all our learners.
