Year 8 students and their parents/carers were invited to the library this week for ‘biscuits and read.’
Everyone enjoyed snacks and drinks whilst reading aloud together from a selection of books in our library.
This initiative is a wonderful way to not only improve the learner’s reading fluency and confidence but is an opportunity for parents/guardians and their child to spend valuable time together.
This is the second event of its kind as Year 7 pupils were invited last half term.
A Year 8 pupil, said: “It was nice showing my dad the library and doing something that was different to a lesson and spending time together”.
Another said: “I loved having time with my dad in school, as we don’t get so much at home.”
