Our Graphics department aims to produce a cohort of creative and imaginative minds who wish to develop their understanding and have a further appreciation of graphics within the many aspects of the industry. It is hoped that pupils who study graphics will have a clear and enriched appreciation for this subject with an enthusiastic drive to continue learning this subject at a higher level.
KS3:
Year 9 pupils will be introduced to graphics as an independent subject and this is designed to help inform their option choices.
Pupils will be introduced to a brand new and exciting 12 week project. This new action figure theme has been created to introduce and follow a typical design process. Pupils will learn how to effectively and independently respond to a set brief. They will learn and develop a base understanding of various graphical skills such as typography and the key elements of design used in industry. These skill sets will all lead towards producing a creative outcome that will also incorporate 3d modelling processes.
KS4:
Qualification – NCFE: VCERT L1/L2 Technical Award in Graphic Design.
Pupils will further develop their knowledge and application of a range of media and processes in a graphic design context to build a foundation for working more confidently and personally. They will work to set briefs to explore and develop ideas to creatively consider their journey and outcomes.
