(There may be occasions when the Library is closed due to staff training or meetings. These closures will be advertised and where possible 24 hours’ notice will be given)
All resources in the library (except DVDs) can be borrowed for two weeks, with the option to renew resources if required for longer.
Students can use the library system Oliver 5 to search for books and reliable websites; as well as write book reviews and reserve books that are currently unavailable. Students can access the library system by logging in with their school Google Account.
All resources borrowed from the Library must be issued at the main issue desk by a member of staff. There is a security barrier and CCTV in operation.
Parents/Carers will be asked to pay for any lost or damaged resources.
Weekly reminders for overdue resources are sent out automatically by email to Parents/Carers.
Students have access to a number of eResources:
A daily online newspaper for teenagers focusing on the big issues that are transforming the world. Helps explain current affairs in short illustrated articles, picking out the underlying issues that are shaping the world.
eChalk provides curriculum-aligned activities, games, simulations and puzzles, created with a focus on learning through fun.
Students have access to our virtual library where eBooks and audio books can be borrowed 24/7 through our GFM online platform. If you prefer to read online or listen to an audio book, you can access these on your device instantly and free of charge.
Download the App by searching for ePlatform by Wheelers. Once downloaded, search for GFM (Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust). For further information, please visit the library.
*The new GFM Virtual Library is now Live!*
The website will be used to support the GFM community with 24 hour access to reading and research support.
