We are saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and felt that it was important to communicate with you how we are supporting our learners.
We are working with our learners and staff to take time to reflect on the Queen’s life and her commitment to our nation. During a period of remarkable change, she proved herself one of the most effective and best-loved sovereigns the nation has known.
On Friday 9 September, all schools within the Trust held assemblies and staff briefings; the emotional support teams extended their support. We appreciate our community will have different perspectives during the national period of mourning – we will be taking time to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II.
We can confirm that schools will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022. This day will be a Bank Holiday to coincide with the state funeral. This day enables the community the opportunity to pay their respects, commemorate Her reign and marks the final day of national mourning.
