Meet the next generation of renewable energy students

Year 10 GFM students Josh and Phinn are part of the next generation of renewable energy students as they complete work experience with SERT.

The GFM are working with SERT to support an alternative curriculum. The aim is to create pathways towards green energy careers and skills training, designed by industry and delivered through schools.

In a first of its kind, Year 10 students Josh and Phinn have been training with SERT on basic skills across all heating divisions to build foundation knowledge to upskill.

The partnership focuses on local schools and businesses working together for the benefit of all our young people.

Director, Mark Edwards, said: “It was a rewarding experience to meet these students and listen to their story so far and how this opportunity could be life changing, and for the first time they could see a great future for themselves. Huge strides starts with small steps.”

SERT are now offering a discounted rate of up to 70% off off Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Training. This is a perfect opportunity for heating technicians to future proof their businesses. Both install, service, commision for ASHP and the design of Heat Pumps are delivered at the new renewables suite on site at Brune Park School.  For more information contact: training@sertwork.com
