Service Families

Mrs Lesley Ure

Service Children’s Coordinator

I’m Lesley Ure, the Service Children and Families Coordinator for the Gosport and Fareham Multi Academy Trust.

For over a  decade, I have provided support to families, both in the local and surrounding areas.  Prior to my position here with the Gosport and Fareham Multi Academy Trust, I was employed for 3 years with the Gosport and Fareham family support service. During this period I worked with families who have a range of needs.  As a Family Support Worker, it was my responsibility to provide ‘whole family’ support through a wide range of interventions, this being met as a result of a collaborative multi-agency approach that aimed at their needs being met and their outcomes improved.

My husband has served in the Royal Navy for 24 years. I am familiar with the mixture of emotions that are experienced as part of everyday life when family members are away. Having a positive school routine for children that are experiencing separation is very important, but there are days that are more challenging and support is available across our  schools.

My role within the GFM as Service Children and Families Coordinator is to support all Service Children and their families during challenging periods for the family. In addition to supporting Children within the school setting, I am able to offer advice on supporting children with challenging behaviour, positive parenting strategies and resilience and confidence support.

Please note that there is a link below where you can make us aware of when a family member is deployed.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me either by email  or phone me on 02392 587931.
