As a team, our aim is to help get the best out of our Service Children to ensure they have a great start in life, equipping them with tools for the future.
Service Children and Families Lead and Community Hub Manager
Within the GFM I am the Service Children and Families Lead and work as part of the our wider GFM Children & Families Services.
For over a decade, my roles have involved me working in child protection, completing family assessments and offering family support, both in the local and surrounding areas.
It is my responsibility to ensure that all Service Children and their families are provided with an environment where they can access the relevant resources to ensure that their specific needs, that relate to being a service family, are met.
If you have any questions or would like support, then please contact me by sending an email to: email@example.com or telephone me on 02392 616000, ext. 5374.
Service Children and Families Coordinator
I am the Service Children and Families Coordinator.
My background is in supporting student engagement in class. I am qualified to provide ELSA as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant.
It is my responsibility to provide emotional literacy support in conjunction with the Pastoral and Year teams, deployment support (and this can include short absences), ELSA (referrals must go through your child’s Year team) careers advice in conjunction with the Careers Advisor, weekly drop-in sessions, activities, support for service families transitioning in or out of the area, and to signpost families to the relevant services.
If you have any questions or would like support, then please contact me by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blended Learning & Service Community Facilitator
I joined the GFM Service Community Team as the Blended Learning & Service Community Facilitator. I aim to offer children a combination of remote, online learning and opportunities to access resources in the community that will enhance their learning in the classroom. By delivering this type of learning, I hope to mitigate the negative impact that family mobility or parental deployment might have on them.
I have been lucky enough to always work in jobs where my passions lie. My most recent roles were in the Marine & Maritime sector, where I worked in a marina, and for a sailing team. Before that, I was involved in the music industry; this gave me the opportunity to travel internationally, meet some inspiring people and gain many valuable skills.
My passion is to inspire and motivate people to achieve things that they may not have ever thought they were capable of doing, by removing barriers and engaging through effective coaching techniques. This is most evident when I am delivering boxing sessions to people of all ages at the local boxing club. It is my ambition to continue making an impact on people’s lives, helping to build confidence, respect and resilience, particularly focusing on those who may have become disengaged with normal day-to-day life.
If you have any questions or would like support, then please contact me by sending an email to: email@example.com.
The GFM Service Community Facebook group is a brilliant platform to meet new friends and catch-up with people who you already know in the community. It’s also a good place to keep up to date with events and activities.
Please remember to answer the question and agree to the rules, then you’ll be in!
This is a 10-week Nurturing Programme that focuses on supporting parents across a wide range of parenting challenges, rather than modifying specific features of child behaviour, and is described as a cognitive relational approach that incorporates some behavioural elements. The emphasis is on empathy non-blaming communication. It focuses mostly on helping parents to understand thoughts, feelings and emotions (of both parents and children) and on the quality of the relations between the child and parents. Please complete this referral form after discussing with the parents and they will be added to the expression of interest list: https://forms.gle/GJytHp6KBsdBEJFu6, or contact Lesley Ure firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.

Managing a family can be amazing, but occasionally, we could all do with some additional support. If you feel that that this would benefit you and your family, then please complete this referral form.
If you feel your child would benefit from 1-2-1 wellbeing support in school, and it doesn’t involve ELSA (as this is a different referral process through the Year Teams), please complete this referral form once you have discussed it with your child.
If your child is in the Primary Phase (Year 6 or below) and requires 1-2-1 support, then please complete this referral form instead.
If you would like further information, or have any questions prior to completing the referral form, then please email Charlie Clarke (Service Children and Families Coordinator) firstname.lastname@example.org.
We often request that families provide us with feedback to enable us to continually review the support that is provided to our service families across the secondary phase of the GFM. If you wish to give us some feedback then please complete this form.
