Bay House Sixth Form will provide you with friendly and professional advice and guidance:
- What kind of course is right for me?
- Who do I talk to for careers information?
- How do I organise a visit to the Sixth Form?
- How do I apply to the Sixth Form?
- Who do I speak to about enrolment details?
Each student has a personal tutor and joins a sixth form tutor group of about twenty students. The tutor, under the general direction of the Head of Sixth Form, has an oversight of each student’s work, personal development and future prospects. Students run their own Sixth Form Forum.
Students produce their own yearbook, can assist as mentors for younger pupils, and participate in a variety of fundraising activities. Successful social events in previous years have included fashion shows, karaoke evenings, barbecues and staff/student sports matches.
Information about transport options for getting to college including bus timetables, bus passes and student facilities for parking cars, bikes and mopeds can be found in the resources section on our Letters and resources page (link opens in a new window), or in the Sixth Form Office.
Information about further and higher education is readily available, backed by the full range of prospectuses from universities and colleges, together with up-to-date information about careers. Our Post-18/Higher Education page features guidance documents, useful links and other resources on UCAS, applying for Higher Education and student finance.
Impartial careers advice from a level 7 careers and guidance practitioner is also available for all pupils and students within the GFM by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The careers room at Bay House has a suite of PCs and an extensive library of careers literature which covers post-18 and graduate careers. To find out more please call us on 023 9250 5276.
