As we move towards the Christmas break, we thought it timely to send a reminder about ways we can work together to keep our young people safe online.
Online safety is a focus of work in a range of subjects and through assemblies at school. You may have heard it mentioned in the national press this week, focusing specifically on the dangers of live streaming: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42224148
We encourage you to have regular conversations with your child about keeping themselves online, to reinforce and revisit messages they hear in school.
The key messages are:
- only link on social media with people you know
- talk to your parents, school and friends if someone you don’t know approaches you online
- never respond to a request for an image (and tell your parents, school or friends)
