Sixth form students attend the London International Model United Nations Conference

This weekend, 9 sixth form students from Bay House participated in the prestigious two-day London International Model United Nations Conference along with 240 delegates from across the UK, USA, France, Ireland, Turkey and Romania.  We were the only state school there and students had to re-enact roles acting as UN representatives on behalf of China, Australia, USA, France, Germany and others over the course of two full days at Kings College London in a range of committees.  Topics included in-depth subjects such as Antartica 2048, Women’s Equality, gun control in African countries, the rights of indigenous peoples, self-determination and secession, regulating labour rights in developing countries, disease control & climate change and the 1918-19 German Revolutions.
Bay House Sixth Form won one of only 2 Best Delegation Awards as our students performed so well as well as FOUR individual awards including Best Delegate for Sam.
Thanks to FOBH for supporting the Model UN Programme at Bay House, we also couldn’t have attended without their support – thanks for everyone for supporting them too!
